The Carbex i-BRUSH is a unique product used to monitor brush wear, temperature, humidity, voltage drop, and current distribution. All Carbex grades of carbon brush are available with the i-BRUSH design and it is suited for both onshore and offshore wind farms.

Its unique properties provide a secure brush/slip ring operation with full wear and temperature control to minimize the risk of costly slip ring repair and loss of power generation caused by unnecessary turbine downtime. No longer will you have to check brush conditions manually, instead, i-BRUSH technology enables maintenance staff to check conditions at any time, in any place. Operating conditions are uploaded to the cloud and can be displayed in any smartphone or PC. With knowledge of remaining brush life, future maintenance can easily be planned to secure uptime.

The i-BRUSH technology provides a list of all generators on a site connected to the system. The generator closest to needing maintenance tops the list, enabling users to prioritise maintenance duties. The i-BRUSH enhances Wind Turbine performance and eliminates the need for site visits inspections.
